Weapon attachments are parts of weapons in Apex Legends that can be attachable and detachable. These serve the purpose of making the weapon better for use. The six types of weapon attachments are bolts, barrel mods, optics, stocks, magazines and hop-ups.
Optics
Optics are weapon attachments that can be installed or uninstalled on top of your weapon. These attachments can help view enemies from a further distance or, in some cases, locate where an enemy is within a certain building. Different weapons can accept different optics.

Barrel Stabilizer
Barrel Stabilizers are weapon attachments that help decrease the recoil of a weapon when firing. This can help with being precise when in combat and landing all of your shots on your enemy.

Shotgun Bolts
Shotgun Bolts are attachments that can only attach to any weapon that uses shotgun shells (except for the Mastiff). Shotgun bolts decrease the rate of fire, making them immensely useful for close quarter combat.

Stocks
Stocks are attachments available to some weapons in Apex Legends. These attachments reduce the time it takes to switch between 2 weapons. This is especially helpful when you're in a fight and you run out of ammunition on one weapon, you can immediately switch to the other in less time.
Hop-Up Attachments
Hop-Up Attachments (shorthand: hop-ups) are specialized attachments available to certain weapons in Apex Legends. These are muzzle, receiver and rifling modifications of weapons that can be easily installed and removed on the fly without requiring to invest any time in taking apart the weapon. Depending on the weapons and type of attachment used, these can have a large impact on how the weapon operates. Each weapon only has one specific Hop-Up that can be attached to the weapon. There are currently 5 Hop-Ups in the game.
Types of Hop-Ups
Double-Tap Trigger
Enables option on firearm to quickly fire two ammunition pieces at a time. This Hop-Up was added in season 3.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
EVA-8 Shotgun | Changed the shotgun's function from firing one shell at a time to two shells. However, the shotgun stays fully auto, and holding down on trigger still fires another pair of shells. |
G7 Scout | Changed the G7's function from firing one light round at a time to firing two. This function makes the AR closer to a burst rifle, rather than a semi-auto rifle. |
Hammerpoint Rounds
Increases damage done to unshielded targets. This Hop-up was added in season 2.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
SA-3 Mozambique | Multiplied the damage of ammunition against unshielded targets by 2.2x. |
Hammond P2020 | Multiplied the damage of ammunition against unshielded targets by 2.6x. |
Disruptor Rounds
Increased damage done to shielded targets. This Hop-Up was added in season 2 and removed in Season 3.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
Alternator | Multiplied the damage of ammunition to shields by 1.55x. |
RE-45 Autopistol | Multiplied the damage of ammunition to shields by 1.7x. |
Precision Choke
Narrows the spread of fired projectiles while aiming down sights (ADS). The weapon charges in three stages, narrowing the spread with each charge; the charge degrades while not using ADS. This effectively increases the effective range of the weapon.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
D-2 Triple Take | As it charges, each stage tightens the spread of the projectiles. When fully charged, fires 1 projectile instead of 3 that deals the full damage of the 3 projectiles combined. Unlike the Peacekeeper, the charge of the choke does not slowly degrade but immediately disappears once reverted back to hip fire. |
Peacekeeper | When fully charged, the spread of its pellets are nearly eliminated making the shotgun perfectly suited for midrange. |
Selectfire Receiver
Provides additional functionality that allows the toggle of an alternate firing mode when there previously was not one.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
HAVOC Rifle | Enables the option to go semi automatic. While in this mode the weapon takes longer to charge up and consumes 5 ammunition, however fires a hitscan energy burst that does 3 times the damage of a single burst done in automatic firemode. |
Prowler Burst PDW | Enables the option to go fully automatic. |
Anvil Reciever
Increases damage done to targets, but uses more ammunition and reduces rate of fire (uses two ammunition at once rather than one). This Hop-Up was added in season 3, along with Double tap trigger.
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
R-301 Carbine | Increases damage done by 2.5x |
VK-47 Flatline | Increases damage done by 2.3x |
Skullpiercer Rifling
Increased the damage dealt when executing a headshot, removed in season 3 along with Disruptor rounds
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
B3 Wingman | Increased base headshot damage dealt from 90 to 203. |
Longbow DMR | Increased base headshot damage dealt from 110 to 275. |
Turbocharger
Reduced the spin up time required to charge up energy coils cartridges, removed in season 4
Weapon | Effect |
---|---|
HAVOC Rifle | Eliminated charge up time and enables the weapon to fire immediately at a fast rate. |
X-55 Devotion MK.3 | Allowed the weapon to ramp up to its maximum firerate quicker. |
