Training is the first (and only offline) mission of Titanfall. It serves to provide both new and experienced players with a means to practice advanced movement techniques, and learn the game's mechanics. The mission must be completed at least once before access to multiplayer is allowed.
Plot[]
Stolen IMC Training Simulation Pods litter the Frontier. They are illegally cracked and distributed by criminal organisations everywhere, and are used for both training new recruits and honing the skills of experienced mercenary Pilots. While anyone can use a cracked training pod, only the most expert Pilots will hear everything that a pod's AI has to say to them.[1]
The player initially starts the mission in a Simulation Pod, with the pod door open and a view of the player character's bunk. The player is directed through brief look controls before being directed to complete the Hammond Industries Pilot Combat Certification Simulator.
Once the Simulation is complete, the player will awaken just in time to see the idyllic vista in front of them turn into the reality; a view of space outside the spacecraft they are on. They are then informed of their imminent arrival at Horizon Station, and the mission ends.
