Titanfall Wiki

Titanfall Wiki is capable of hosting videos for use on article pages and user pages. To allow for smooth operation of the site, prevent offence of readers, and to allow for easy tracking of video content, this policy has been put in place to guide users on uploading and usage of videos on the site. Please note that the Titanfall Wiki administration holds the ability to delete any uploaded video for any reason without notice, even if it complies with all of the guidelines listed below.

In general, videos are held to the same standards as images, as defined in our Image Policy.

Uploading a Video[]

Before you upload a video, you need to question whether it's actually necessary to upload the video! Videos should only be uploaded to Titanfall Wiki when they are going to be used on one of the following spaces:

  1. Articles
  2. Userpage
  3. Talkpage
  4. Blogs
  5. MediaWiki Pages
  6. Categories (On rare occasions)

If the video is not going to be used on one of the above spaces, then please use an independent video hosting site, an example being YouTube. Videos which are uploaded that are not to be used on the site itself will be deleted - Titanfall Wiki is not a video hosting site!.

What Videos Should be Uploaded?[]

To prevent clutter and improve the overall quality of the wiki, Titanfall Wiki has a set of guidelines in place for video use. For a video intended for use on a main article, please follow these guidelines;

  • Whenever possible, try and source a video from the Titanfall Official, Titanfall Assault, Titanfall Online, EA or Respawn Entertainment YouTube channels. While trailers and gameplay footage are often uploaded by other channels, it is preferable that the original files are linked from their original source.
  • Community and fan-made video content should not be placed onto article pages. Exceptions can be made for notable community content, such as Titan Toons (made by Respawn Entertainment animator Moy Parra), but in general, community and fan videos should instead be posted on User Pages, Community Blogs and Forum Posts. This includes content such as gameplay guides, reviews and other non-official content.
    • If you believe a community video is notable enough to be posted on a main page, see that article's Talk Page and post a link to the video with your reasoning, to allow for community deliberation on the topic.
  • Uploaded videos should preferably stay related to Titanfall, its developers or similarly related news in some way, even for use on User pages.

Uploading a Video[]

To upload a video to Titanfall Wiki, you first need to know the video's URL. Wikia supports embedding of videos from YouTube, Dailymotion and Vimeo - direct file uploads are not possible. Once you have a url, press the "Add a Video" button on the Special:Videos page and paste the URL. A more comprehensive guide can be found here. Before uploading a video, check that the video you're attempting to upload does not already exist on the wiki already.

Leaked Video[]

As with images, leaked content is not tolerated on Titanfall Wiki. Any users found uploading leaked video content will have the files deleted and their accounts banned.

Not Following Guidelines[]

Videos which do not follow these guidelines are at risk of being deleted and the uploader warned. Multiple offences can lead to an exclusion for the wiki. The criteria for upload may seem small, however they will help to ensure that Titanfall Wiki achieves the best results; and remember, when in doubt, ask an Admin.
