"Termination" redirects here. For the Titan finisher move, see [[the Pilot equivalent]]
Termination, often referred to as execution (not to be mixed with the Pilot melee move, Execution), is a special Titan melee attack in Titanfall. 200 Experience Points is awarded upon performing this on a piloted Titan. It can be performed on Doomed hostile Titans by meleeing from within 6.6675 meters and from an angle of 45 degrees in front of the titan. All terminations play a specific animation exclusive to each Titan chassis if the doomed titan is manned, if performed on an Auto-Titan, the animation will simply show your titan punching into the Titan, and then the Titan explodes.
Grabs the enemy's fist and then proceeds to kick the Titan's shoulder to rip the right arm off and then follow this up by ripping the left arm off before bashing the doomed Titan's head with its now ripped-off left arm.
Executions work in basically the same way in Titanfall 2. However, they are now conducted from a third-person standpoint, rather than the first-person view of the originals. The execution is also greatly simplified: simply performing a melee attack on an enemy Titan that's in the Doomed state will trigger a Termination.
Ion catches the arm of the Titan after its attempt to punch her, using a Laser Shot to sever it. Ion then smashes the opposing Titan in the knee with its severed arm, causing it to kneel, then thrusts the Splitter Rifle into the cockpit and shoots until the Titan is dead.
Death Stare
Ion wins a staring contest against her opponent.
Ion Laser shots the Titan causing it to stagger. As the opposing titan rushes back for a punch arms, Ion back arms the titan, causing the cockpit to break open. Ion then fires a Laser Core into the open cockpit, vaporizing the Pilot if they are inside.
Northstar sweeps the opposing titans legs before using her hover to jump high into the air. He then uses her hover to move quickly back down, thrusting her plasma railgun into the opposing cockpit, then firing a fully charged shot.
Bird of Prey
Swoop down and disable your opponent.
Northstar uses her gun to slam the Titan's weapon from their hands, jumps onto the Titan, rips its arms off, and then activates flight core, firing a few missiles into the opposing titan before landing on it, shattering it.
Tone jump kicks the titan and thrusts her hand into the cockpit, then pulls the Pilot out, throws it in the air and shoots it. However if there is no pilot, the execution animation will end without any further actions after he digs into the cockpit.
Target Acquired
Lock onto the enemy before firing your Tracker Rockets.
Tone smacks the opposing titan, making them drop their weapon. She then shoots the Titan twice with her 40mm Tracker Cannon before shoving it into the cockpit, then flips the enemy titan over her head and finishes it off with a payload of Tracker Rockets.
Break into the enemy cockpit before crushing the Pilot.
Monarch punches the enemy titan with her gun, then shoves her hand into the opposing cockpit, rips the enemy Pilot and crushes them, then finishes the Titan off with a kick. If there's no Pilot, Monarch will look at her empty hand in confusion for a moment before kicking the enemy Titan down.
Energy Thief Kit
Description
Energy Thief
(Not to be confused with the Monarch Kit, which enables this execution to be used)
Monarch shoulder smashes into the enemy titan, knocking open it's cockpit. Her Pilot then, pushing the escaping enemy Pilot back into the cockpit before climbing to the top of the enemy Titan. Monarch slams the enemy Titan's hatch down on the enemy Pilot, killing them from the impact. Monarch's Pilot then pulls a Battery out of the enemy Titan before jumping back into Monarchs still-open cockpit. Monarch then kicks the enemy titan over.
In addition, several of the Apex Predator boss fights in the campaign have unique execution animations that can be perfomed by BT-7274.
BT rips Ash's ronin and shoves his hand into its' cockpit, ripping her out of her Titan before crushes her in his fist, and then he kicks the Titan over.
This was later used for the "Checkmate" Termination for the Monarch-class Titan, and may be used by friendly Vanguard Titans in Trial By Fire. Also, if close enough to a wall, BT instead slams Ash against the wall, crushing her.
BT flips Richter's Tone on its back before he Salvo Cores him at point-blank range.
This Termination was also seen being used by BT earlier with Lastimosa on another IMC Tone Titan at the start of the campaign.
BT kicks Slone's Titan in the chest, before unleashing a barage his missiles and the XO16A2 Chaingun into her.
This Termination was seen being used earlier by BT with Lastimosa against the Apex Predators, before he was overwhelmed.
During the Titan Execution animations in Titanfall 2, both executor and executed are invulnerable to any and all damage while the execution animation plays.
You, however, can die from "Fall" where the hitbox for the out-of-bounds death trigger (most likely the cockpit) clips out of the map during the animation, this can happen with Northstar's Terminations in particular.
In the Termination Target Acquired, the shots from the 40mm Tracker Cannon are actual shots, and can tag nearby enemy Titans and Reapers.
If the player being Terminated leaves the game whilst Ion is firing her laser during Death Stare, the player will return to the cockpit firing the Laser Core, even when the Core Meter is not full.
Northstar can terminate a fellow Northstar in the air, and the animation will play out floating.
Interestingly, BT's Termination on Slone during the campaign was used earlier by Lastimosa against the Apex Predators, before he was overwhelmed. Upon further examination, the Titan being Terminated by Lastimosa bore the coloring of Slone's Ion. Whether this is an oversight, or Slone survived and was able to repair her Titan, is unknown.
It is possible that Ion’s Disarm was a reference to Ogre’s execution given the fact that they both tear an arm off of the enemy titan and smash the titan with it.
