Slingshotting is a Pilot movement technique involving Grapple in Titanfall 2.
By attaching the grapple at the edge of its range or at a higher elevation, then jumping just as the grapple begins to pull, the pilot can be thrown vast distances, over structures, Titans and even across entire maps.
Strategy[]
- Combining this technique with Slide Hopping allows speed to be carried even further
- Pilots using this technique are notoriously difficult to hit, especially with projectile weapons.
- The large height and speed advantage, along with the element of surprise allows for lightning-fast hit and run attacks, along with fast capture speeds.
- Air Strafing and tactical use of the Jump Kit can further enhance this technique's effectiveness.
- This can be used to ambush Titans with unexpected Rodeo attacks.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown whether this method was voluntarily included by Respawn Entertainment or a simple bug, but given how it has been left, the former is more probable.
- By going at immense speeds, Pilots can 'break' the game's hit registration; shots that appear to hit their target will instead do no damage, yet blood effects will still issue from the target.
