The Battle of Angel City was an engagement fought by the forces of the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Frontier Militia's Marauder Corps, primarily in the Harbour District of Angel City.
Prelude[]
The Battle of Troy would result in the MCOR recruiting the services of former-IMC officer James MacAllan. As a result, the defector would provide a large amount of critical intelligence for Militia forces to employ, including a plan developed many years ago to take out the refuelling station on planet Demeter, ultimately preventing IMC reinforcements from the Core Systems from reaching the Frontier.
However, to enact this plan would require the service of dishonourably discharged ex-IMC Pilot Robert "Barker" Taube, a drunkard living in Angel City. Anticipating this move, Spyglass would alert IMC informants in the city to look out for Barker, while Vice Admiral Graves would deploy his forces into the city to begin a manual sweep. Meanwhile, MacAllan would extract Barker from the bar personally, while Militia troops distracted IMC security forces.
The Battle[]
The first major skirmish between IMC and Militia forces would occur following the forced extraction of Barker by MacAllan and his squad. With Barker and MacAllan extracting via the city's sewer system.
With Militia forces tasked to simply distract IMC security troops, the battle would mainly involve heavy fighting in District 12, with the IMC trying to pick off the defending troops. Eventually, however, the IMC Carrier IMS Sentinel would deploy into the city, to assist in peacekeeping operations. However, MacAllan would order the Militia's Hornet fighters on station to focus fire on the ship's aft thruster, crippling the vessel and forcing it to retreat.
Eventually, the Militia would successfully extract Barker, at great cost to their own forces, and retreat from the city, resulting in a military IMC victory.
Aftermath[]
With the heavy damage sustained by IMS Sentinel, the carrier would retreat to drydock at Outpost 207 to repair. As a result, the Militia would later use this opportunity to put the carrier out of action permanently. The successful extraction of Barker would later allow the ex-IMC Pilot to fly Militia troops to IMC Base Golden, allowing the Militia to analyze the schematics of the Repulsor Towers critical to the defense of IMC Airbase Sierra, and thus the defense of Demeter.
Following the destruction of Demeter, elements of Angel City would be used in the War Games simulations set up by the Remnant Fleet, to prevent IMC troops from making the same mistakes as were made in Angel City.
