Arc Rounds is an upgrade available for the Monarch Titan, on Tier 1 of the Upgrade Core. When employed, it buffs the Monarch's XO16A2 Chaingun to fire electrified bullets, not too dissimilar to the Amped XO-16 or Burst Core.

Arc Rounds have multiple effects:

• Increases the XO16A2 Chaingun's ammo capacity from 40 to 50.
• Monarch's Chaingun will deal 50% extra damage protected by the shielding of a Battery.
• Monarch's Chaingun will deal 50% extra damage to both Particle Wall and Gun Shield.
• Monarch's Chaingun will drain Vortex Shield and Heat Shield significantly faster than normal. It drains 3.3% energy from Vortex/Heat Shield. That is equivalent to 39.6% per second when holding the trigger (without Accelerator). For comparison, Vortex drains 12%/s and Heat Shield drains 25%/s (17%/s w/ Inferno).

Strategy

This core is by far Monarch's best core upgrade. Monarch's Chaingun is their primary method of dealing deal damage, so making it more powerful against shields significantly increases Monarch's effectiveness. It also gives them their only way of getting through enemy shields, such as Scorch's Heat Shield and Tone's Particle Wall.

Arc Rounds drains an extreme amount of charge from Vortex on hit. If the Ion keeps their shield up, this will also drain the Ion's energy almost completely, leaving them without any abilities or their weapon's split-shot, making Monarch significantly harder for Ions to deal with.
